Here's one for your diary... whether you're planning your very first bicycle tour and have a million unanswered questions keeping you up at night, or you've been around the traps for a while and just want to have a casual chat to over a drink or two to someone about a nice route to cycle in another country: here's your chance!

As part of the three-week Sydney Rides Festival, Marie Laubie of Travel Cycle Drinkle has organised a bicycle touring get together.

It's an informal event at the Forresters Hotel in Surry Hills, Sydney, where you can come and meet other like-minded cycle travellers.

Alia and Simon Parker of Cycle TravellerSimon and I will be there, as well as Marie, who has cycled through Europe and Asia and a bunch of other adventurers, including Jules and Li from Bamboo Odyssey, who cycled from London to Australia on bamboo bikes; and Dave Turner of Mushy Pea who has ridden off the beaten track on various expeditions through places like the Himalayas and Mongolia.

  • Where: Umbrella Room, Forresters Hotel, Cnr Foveaux & Riley Street, Surry Hills , Sydney
