I'm just putting together the gear now, and will start doing warm up rides to see what my body is telling me etc. and how the gear is behaving. might try and aim for that 100km zone per day. As to the nullarbor winds, my young wife and I where driving east when we seen a dust storm coming up in the rear view mirror, thought I'd keep ahead of it. I accelerated to 140km/h in the little old ford lazer and the storm still rushed past us like a vision from the movie - The Mummy. I guess that put the wind at about 160km/h and blinding dust, the breaks went straight on, before we lost the direction of the road.
