I first came across people crossing the Nullabor to Perth in the 1980s while on a surf trip, replenishing food supplies at Penong South oz. The European boys said "Where are the kangaroos? we see only dead ones". I said that's coz there nocturnal. They seemed to be doing 70km a day, I've been told that they were being slack, and therefore wondered what was doable in terms of km. What spares for the bike do you really recommend? What energy foods/ foods do you recommend will be enough to see you through this section? I also was thinking of doing the winter crossing by bike as I've driven it 4 times now and love the feeling of emptiness out there.
