GJ Coop: Cycling 30,000km around Australia and counting

GJ Coop. Cycle Traveller

Few people know outback Australia as intimately as GJ Coop. Back in 2009, GJ packed his bike and set off around the country. More than 30,000km later, and counting, he has zigzagged across Australia starting from Melbourne, heading through the Red Centre to Perth, up and across to Cape York, stopping at intervals to earn a bit of cash. He is currently riding south along the back roads from Mount Isa in Queensland down to Melbourne. Cycle Traveller caught up with GJ to pick his brains about cycle touring through the remotest parts of the country.
